Just Get Started
The best way to edit Isawiki articles is to just get started.
For each page you can click on:-
  • Edit to edit a section
  • to add a search result
  • to delete a search result
  • to move a search result up
  • to move a search result down
When you are in an editing screen, the relevant help wikis are displayed in the menu on the left.
Who can Edit
"Anyone can edit any article", but in some cases, edits are checked before they go live.
Isawiki has a system to minimize vandalism which works as follows:-
  • All wikis have a star rating from zero to five
  • All users have a star rating from zero to five (anonymous editors have a star rating of zero)
  • If an editor has an equal or greater number of stars than the article, then the changes to the article will go live immediately
  • If the user has less stars than the article, then the the changes are submitted as a suggestion for someone else with the required number of stars to approve
  • If a zero star editor edits a zero star article, it goes live immediately, but is still checked afterwards in Articles to Check
  • Anyone can get a higher star rating by simply making good edits
Neutral Point of View
All editors are required to make their edits with a Neutral Point of View.  This may be a lot more difficult for a search engine than an encyclopedia, but Isawiki has been set up in such a manner that for important wikis, decisions are made by trusted editors or by the consensus of opinion in the suggestions section.  The full procedure is described in How the Collaborative Process Works In Isawiki.
